A Thanksgiving Devotional

Now is a great time to reflect on our blessings.

A Thanksgiving Devotional

It's Thanksgiving week so most of us are getting excited about seeing our families and eating good food on Thursday. Hopefully we're also thinking about everything we're thankful for. Hopefully we're not just thinking about it but praying to God and telling him how thankful we are for everything he's blessed us with. We're so quick to pray when things go wrong, but we don't always pray as much as we should with thankfulness. We can use this time to focus on all of our blessings and remember where they come from.

God has blessed me and my family so much. I'm so thankful for God, his sacrifice to us, my family, friends, church family, my job, my house, and the list goes on and on. The picture is two of my favorite blessings, Jaxson and Abel. I feel thankful every time I see their smiling faces.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is Godʼs will for you in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:16-18‬ ‭

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭107:1‬ ‭

“always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:6‬

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
