With Thanksgiving break just around the corner and That 70’s Show being a favorite of mine, what better way to illustrate the stages of being home for Thanksgiving than by using the best of characters? Here they are, telling us exactly how Thanksgiving break goes.
1. When you first get home and you try to bombard your siblings who have “missed you so much”
2. That first morning when you roll over and look at the clock and it’s not 9 A.M.
3. When your parents ask how you’re doing this semester, and then you realize it’s almost over and you’re failing 2 classes
4. When you overhear your parents talking about not cooking a full Thanksgiving meal this year because it’s only going to be the three of you
5. When your grandparents ask how you’ve survived so many hard classes and you’re just like…
6. When it’s all fun and games during family dinner, and then you remember that English essay is due in three days and you haven’t started
7. When you’re just trying to enjoy leftovers for breakfast and your parents ask if you have any homework to do over break
8. When you accidentally reveal that you dropped that one class and your parents start interrogating you
9. When everyone starts asking if you’re high, drunk, single, failing, or stressed and it feels too real so you just sit there and think
10. And finally, when you’re about to walk out of the front door to head back to school and your parents are like “We didn't even get to talk about your job!” and you think about never coming back but then you just have a brief therapy session with yourself instead
There are very few people who have the ability to capture the root of what Thanksgiving at home can be like, but these guys do the best job possible.
