I don't know about you guys but whenever Thanksgiving rolls around people always ask me, "What's something you're thankful for?" And yes, of course I support people talking about their blessings, but shouldn't we do that all year long? Or does it take a day off school or work to truly make us thankful?
I'm not saying I'm innocent here, but I've noticed it so I'm working on it. However, I urge you to think about this: How do you feel after thinking about something you're thankful for? Do you feel blessed, happy, grateful?
Imagine: you thank God each morning for at least one blessing He has given you. I'll bet you'll have a better outlook on the day's events and you'll be a genuinely happier person.
What's the point? Going away to school has helped me to see how blessed I truly am. It's as if I got a greater appreciation for things and people when I didn't see them everyday. It's unfortunate that it took going away to realize how much I treasure some things, but it's better late than never.
I encourage everyone to be thankful year-round. Acknowledge your blessings more often. It'll be worth it. I promise.
