Momma,
The amount of times I've heard I am exactly like you is almost exhausting. We look alike, and thanks to all the time I've spent by your side, we act alike, too. I've inherited your mannerisms and your attitudes and your love for Diet Coke. I am so glad God put me on this earth as your 'mini-me', and I'm so lucky to be a reflection of you. Despite our many similarities, I still have a lot of work to do. I have many years and many lessons to learn before I become a woman like you. One day, however, I know I will be an amazing wife and mother, all thanks to you.
Thank you, Momma for your undying selfishness. Thank you for teaching me that family comes first.. Always. Point blank. No matter what. You have showed me to treat people better than they treat you. Mom, you deserve the world, but instead you give it to everyone else.
Thank you, Momma for treating me like a princess. Sometimes, I really do not need that new dress or pair of shoes, but usually, we end up in the store anyways. All the times when I could've eaten at home but really wanted that chicken quesadilla, you gave in, and me and my tummy thank you.
Thank you, Momma for teaching me the power of food. Food can bring people together, and I'm pretty sure your chocolate cake could end world wars. I still need a lot of practice in the kitchen, but I hope one day I'll be able to put out an entire Thanksgiving Day meal like you do. And thanks for always making the mac-n-cheese how I like it.
Thank you, Momma (and Dad) for showing me an example of a Godly marriage. In the world today, full of divorce and custody battles, I know how truly blessed I am to have parents like ya'll. Ya'll are still so in love after so many years, and I strive to one day have that.
Thank you, Momma, for always taking care of me when I'm sick. (and I get sick a lot sooo) There are so many nights when I remember you staying up all night, just to talk to me or make me feel better. Thank you for all the pallets made on your bedroom floor, all the yellow gatorades, and all the chicken noodle soups. You are the best nurse I could have ever asked for.
Thank you, Momma for teaching my worth. You have always made sure I know how smart I can be if I try or how cute I look one day. You have taught me that I am independent and to never settle less for what I deserve. Not only that, but you have made me understand how capable I am and that I can really accomplish anything I set my mind to. Anything I have ever accomplished is all thanks to you, Momma.
Thank you, Momma, for your unconditional love. I have never been an easy child to raise, and I know that. But through my temper tantrums, my bratty years (still going on, actually), and the times I did not appreciate you as much as I should, you loved me the same. Most people are not lucky enough to have this. But I know that through life, no matter the wrong turns I take or the mistakes I make, you will love me always.
Momma, there are a million other things I could thank you for, but a simple thank you wouldn't even be enough. You are my role model, my best friend, and my biggest blessing. I know the bond between us is special, and I know God hand picked you for me. I love you so much, Momma.
