Thank You
Foki

To whom all I never got to thank properly,

I just wanted to say thank you to those who have supported me the most in my life. I do not think there is a way that I could ever repay all of y'all for all of the support that you have given me. I would not be who I am today if it was not for all the amazingly wonderful people in my life.

To my parents: You taught me how to be my own person. You taught me how to stand on my own two feet and believe that anything is possible. You gave me the opportunity to go wherever the wind (and God of course) would take me. You inspire me with you kindness and hard work. All the love you have shown me has never gone unnoticed. Thank you.

To my family: You have shown me what it is like to admired by so many people. Thank you for always encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone and taking challenge head on.

To my friends: You have come from all walks of my life and I never before have felt so grateful and blessed. You amaze me with your passion and love and I am grateful that you give me time to a part of your lives. You have shown me how beautiful life really is.

To my college family: Thank you for accepting me for who I am. Going away to school was one of the best decisions of my life and if it was not for all of you, that would not be true. You know exactly what I am thinking before I even say anything. You are always there even if it is to come get me so I don't have to walk alone. Also thank you for keeping me in shape by dragging me to the gym late at night. A special thank you to my roomate for teaching me how to stay up and always be there to listen and live with me.

To my teachers: You have taught me that my future is in my own hands (although one of the scariest discoveries, one of the best). You have made me believe in the power of reading (it really does take you places). Thank you for trusting in me even on the days I wanted to give up. "The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see" -Alexandera K. Trenfor

There are so many amazing people in my life and for them I forever thankful.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

10 Things Only Equestrians Understand

Yes, it IS a sport. Yes, I fall all the time. No, I do not ride in jeans with a cowgirl hat on.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
