Thank You, Prince

Two long months have gone by since the passing of an icon, and during these two months, I have felt the need to express my thankfulness. I like to believe that artists, such as Prince, know the impact that they make in the lives of those that follow them, but sometimes, you just need to say 'thank you'. These are some of the things that I wish I could tell Prince, in order to show just how much he has influenced my life.

Thank you Prince, for showing us how to embrace the person that we were meant to be. There are times that we find ourselves trying to figure out who we are meant to be, but you taught us that there are many ways to find that outlet of self-expression, and embrace it; no matter how extravagant it may be. Not only did you teach us to find ourselves, but when our aesthetic is found, you showed us that evolution of self is possible. We learned that in the journey of finding ourselves, there are bound to be mistakes, and that is perfectly okay; just pick yourself up and try again. To find yourself is one thing, but to find a media representation show that you are not alone. Thank you Prince, for showing that we are not alone.

Thank you, Prince for showing where hard work can really take a person. To us, you embody hard work and dedication. Through your example, we have been able to see that when we are able to put our minds to it, we are able to create a life for ourselves that is unimaginable. When we find ourselves wanting to give up, all we need to do is think, What would Prince do? and normally, the answer is to do whatever it takes to get to your goal. Thank you, Prince for showing us that perseverance is key.

Most of all, thank you, Prince for making music. Your music has transcended boundaries and genres, and was able to create a diverse fanbase that will continue to love you for generations to come. Your love for your craft shows, and has helped to make us love and connect to it as well. Whether we are upset, joyous, angry, or in love, there is a song of yours that can always match our emotion, and for that, you truly enhance our lives. Thank you, Prince for making life exciting.

Prince, your memory will live on for generations to come. Though I did not grow up in a generation that truly understood your work, I can say that you continue to be an inspiration for me, and many more. There are not enough words to tell you how influential you are, but I hope that these few thank you's show that though you may be gone, you will never be forgotten. In the end I feel that the the most appropriate thing to say would come from your own song, "For You."

All of this and more is for you
With love, sincerity and deepest care
My life with you I share

Thank you, Prince, for sharing your life with us, so that we could share ours with you.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
