Thanks, Obama

The End of and Era, the Obama Presidency.

Thanks, Obama

As the new year continues, many things, as well as people are changing. Along with all of these changes, the United States government is about to be completely different. In the eyes of some, this is a good thing and a fresh start for our nation. For others, the inauguration of the future President of the United States is going to be one of the worst things for this nation. While politics have been a main topic of discussion for anyone and everyone that has an opinion, President Obama deserves to be recognized for the work that he has done for this country. This is to you, Mr. President, thank you. Thank you for passing a health care reform that guaranteed some a way to survive, when they needed it the most. Thank you for safely bringing home hundreds of loved ones from Iraq and ending the war. Thank you for eliminating one of the world's largest terrorist leaders, Osama Bin Laden. Thank you for helping your wife provide healthier options in school lunches and boosting the importance of nutrition for students across the nation. Thank you for showing that race does not define a person and that anyone can do anything that they put their minds to. Thank you for showing how a President and Vice President can be more than just colleagues and that after working together for eight years, friendship is one of the most important things in life. Thank you for showing everyone how to raise a family in the White House with grace and elegance. Over the years, President Obama has helped, healed, restored, acted out, and defended the United States to the best of his ability. As his last days in office come to an end, reflecting over the past eight years of Obama's presidency seems like the appropriate thing to do. All in all, history was made and the United States changed drastically during the two terms. The only thing left to do is say "Thanks, Obama."

College is a time of gaining independence, exploring new things, and copious amounts of Netflix. If you're like me, you often find yourself laughing at the sheer ridiculousness of the situations you find yourself in. Here are ten times Bob's Burgers accurately captured college life.

1. What you're pretty sure your upstairs neighbors do at 3am every morning.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Everybody gets sick once in a while, but getting sick while in college is the absolute worst. You're away from home and your mom who can take care of you and all you really want to do is just be in your own bed. You feel like you will have never-ending classwork to catch up on if you miss class, so you end up going sick and then it just takes longer to get better. Being sick in college is really tough and definitely not a fun experience. Here are the 15 stages that everyone ends up going through when they are sick at college.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.
