Thanks Mom

I'll never be able to express how much you mean to me mom.

Thanks Mom
Letitia Hatch

I just wanted to start off by saying thank you. You have been my rock and my savior for years. I know I don't always say it, but I do appreciate everything you do for me. I know I don't always make it easy on you but I really appreciate all of your love and support. I wouldn't be me if it wasn't for you.

You are the person I call when things are going great. I want to share all my joy with you, even if it seems small, it means a lot to me. I love that when I call you, no matter what is going on you will drop what you are doing and talk to me. Not only do I call you when I'm happy, I call when I'm at my lowest point and you pick me right back up. You know when I'm having a hard time and you do everything in your power to help me.

I know it's hard for you when I'm gone. Its hard for me too. I know you try to hide how hard it is for you but I can see it. You aren't just my mom, you are my best friend. I never want you to feel like I've forgotten you or that I'm to busy for you, because I haven't, and I'm not. We've been through so much together and I couldn't have gotten to where I am today if it wasn't for your undying love and your patience (even though sometimes I make it hard to be.)

Thank you mom, for always allowing me to chase my dreams, even if you don't always understand why I want to do them. You've always taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to, and I intend to keep doing that. There isn't a day that goes by where I'm not proud to call you my mom. Each day I still learn from you even though I'm hours away.

You've given me so much faith even when I thought I wasn't good enough. You've never given up on me. You've stood by me and helped me as much as you could. Sometimes I know its hard to step back and let me make mistakes but, I do listen to you and I do keep what you tell me in my head (even though sometimes I don't follow your advice).

Thank you for being both my mom and my dad. You were always there for me. Through every scrapped knee and paper cut to all the soccer games and driving. You were the one who put up with my moody teenage phase and my I know everything phase (I've finally come to realize I don't know everything. Took me long enough right?) You were there through every happy moment, every dance, every sad moment, every heartbreak. You taught me unconditional love. You gave me everything you could. And I can never repay you for that. You are the most amazing mother and I'm so glad that I have you as my mom. You are not only my mom and my dad but you are also my best friend. I know sometimes you worry, but try not to. I've had an amazing teacher! Thank you mom for being here for me through everything.

I love you with all my heart.

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
