Thanks, Roomie

For being everything I could have ever asked for and more.

Thanks, Roomie

We've been through a lot together. The first days of college. First exams. Adventures. Tears. Laughs. Stress. You name it.

There aren't a lot people who can say they stuck with their freshman year roommate. I've heard so many horror stories of that terrible first roommate experience that made them regret not choosing a single.

But that didn't happen with us. Half way through our junior year and we are still together. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

You quickly, and unexpectedly, became my best friend.

You have been there for me through thick and thin. You've helped me through some of my toughest times in college and I couldn't be more grateful.

Without you, my college experience wouldn't be the same. I wouldn't be the same.

It's so hard to believe that we have been together for over 2 years. But, as fast as time has flown by, it also feels like I have known you forever.

I'll never forget all of our late night conversations and trips to the store. Laughing at the dumbest things and hearing all of your stories. Watching movies when we are snowed in and going on adventures when its sunny.

I never thought we would be as close as we are today. I never thought I would find someone that knew me so well and connected with me on such a high level. The memories that I have with you are endless and I can't wait to continue making more memories.

They say that college is the best four years of your life, and because of you, they have been so far.

So... thanks, roomie. Thanks for keeping me from having to tell that horrible freshman roommate story. Thanks for being my go-to person and never judging me when I'm weird. Thanks for always being as awkward as I am and eating tons of food with me. Thanks for laughing with me (and sometimes at me).

Thanks for being you.

Love ya to the moon and back.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
