Thank You, Coffee, For Always Being There

Coffee. Something that people drink to wake up, pull an all-nighter and survive their day. Without coffee, many people would not be able to function properly and get through their everyday lives. Many wake up and have a cup of coffee before they even talk to their significant other. Coffee has become a beverage that is chosen over water and more of a necessity to live. When some get the caffeine in their body, they turn into a completely different person and it is like magic. Coffee has become one of my best friends. It is perfect in any weather and very versatile. Iced coffee is my go-to, whether is it 80 degrees or 8 degrees outside iced coffee is the answer.

Hot coffee is great for those rainy days when you want to stay in bed all day watching lifetime movies, or during the winter months with all of the festive drinks.

Coffee has been there for me through the good, the bad and the ugly. It is there for me at 3 a.m. while studying for exams and writing papers that are due the next day. It is there for me the next morning while taking said exam and turning in said paper. Coffee makes me better on my bad days and energizes me on my slow days. No matter how bad my mood can be when I wake up, the smell of freshly brewed coffee can turn my day around and make everything better.

Thank you, coffee for being there for me and making sure that I get through some of the toughest days that I have encountered. I'm sure that there will be many more days and I know that I can count on it to be there for me.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
