Thanks Big Papi

An era is over.

David Ortiz, Big Papi, has touched the lives of everyone in Boston from his first season back in 2004. From your first year back in 2004, when we (yes, I mean the Red Sox) finally broke the curse, then in 2007, when you rallied the team to win yet another World Series. And who could forget 2013?

April 15, 2013 the city of Boston was changed. The Marathon Bombing changed this city, a city built on strength, courage, and fight, was shaken to its core. In the following days, Boston fought back, we fought with courage, arrested the bombers, and came back stronger than ever. You were the pillar of strength for a city shaken to its core.

You stood in the center of Fenway Park, America's most beloved, and delivered a speech that could never be forgotten by this city. "This is our f------- city. And nobody's going to dictate our freedom. Stay strong." David Ortiz summed up the feelings of the people of Boston in 54 simple words: We may be angry, and hurt, how could we not, our city and our people were attacked? But we cannot give into the anger and hurt, we must rise above, be strong. Be Boston Strong.

We went on to win the World Series that year, the year Boston needed it the most. We rallied, you rallied this city, to bring it back and emphasize the resilience, the strength, the tenacity of this city and its people. Thank you for being more than a player to the city of Boston, thank you for making this your home.

Here we are, three years later, in the running for the world series, yet again. Bring it home Big Papi, not just for the fans, but for you. As a player dedicated to the Red Sox and the city of Boston and its people, you deserve to go out with a bang (which you have). You have rallied this team, this city, and your fans in an incredible way, it will never be forgotten and never be replaced. The city of Boston and a little girl who grew up loving you thanks you for your kindness, your compassion, your dedication, and your strength.

Take it home one more time and demonstrate your true meaning of Boston Strong. David Ortiz has forever left his mark on the city of Boston, the Red Sox, and his fans. Number 34 will always hold a special place in the heart of Boston.

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

CSU

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
