A Thank You Letter To My Big Brother
Jade Beaver

If there is one person that has always been there for me through the easiest and the hardest of times, it has been my big brother. Whether it has been learning to ride a bike, falling off of a tire swing, getting the snowmobile stuck, dealing with break-ups or having a sick parent, my brother has always been by my side.

There are many people who don't have this type of relationship with their siblings, so I make sure to never take mine for granted. Here's a thank you letter to you, my big brother, my idol, my best friend.

I want to thank you for forgiving me when I have been a total and complete jerk to you. You always accepted me back into your life even if I didn't deserve it. I am embarrassed for the way that I have treated you in the past, and I am sorry. Thank you for always seeing the best in me, and forgiving me when I have done you wrong.

I want to thank you for always believing in me, and believing that I could always do and be better than I thought I could. Just by watching you grow and having you in my life I always strive to accomplish so much more. We may have followed different paths but you have always showed me how important knowledge is and how important it is to continue learning even when not in school. I've started to reach out more to soak up knowledge about anything I was curious about, so thank you.

I want to thank you for always being my shoulder to cry on, whether physical or over the phone. I don't know many people who would answer the phone at three in the morning for me, but whenever I call you, you always make time for me. There are many situations in the past four years (and more) that I don't think I could have handled without you. You always thought of positive outcomes for most situations to try to ease my pain.

I want to thank you for not judging me. You have always accepted me for who I am, what I wear, and what I look like. You have never cared and you have done nothing but brought me up especially when I needed it the most.

I want to thank you for being the best big brother I could have ever hoped for. There have been so many crazy twists and turns in our lives, and I am glad you were with me every step of the way. I am thankful everyday that I have you in my life, I don't know what I would do without you. Thank you for everything you do, and continue to do. I love you so much.

Love Always & Forever,

Your Little Sister

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
