Be Thankful You're A Guy

Being a girl is tough. You men may think you have it harder but boy oh boy are you wrong. Us women are always struggling.

For starters, women ALWAYS have to put effort into how they look. Even when we are “bumming” it, we still find ourselves going the extra mile to look presentable. We have to fix our hair and our face simply to run a quick errand. (Trust me when I say pulling off that messy bun and “natural” look is A LOT harder than it looks). You boys on the other hand, can pull off an appearance with minimal effort. A quick comb of the hair and spritz of deodorant and you are off to the races.

Another fortunate thing about being a guy is you almost never have to think about the clothes you are wearing. Us women have to put thought into every outfit we wear, every second of everyday. Mix matching clothes is a big NO NO for us. We have to wear nice clothing regardless of the occasion. One fashion mishap and BOOM you are on the cover of “What not to Wear.” Men simply do not have that pressure. You can pull of pajama pants and a rugged old t-shirt and still be considered “good looking”.

Not only do us women take time in the way we dress and look, we are forced to spend LOADS of cash too. Our clothes, our makeup, and even our little pampering cost a fortune. Lucky for you men, you do not have to spend a penny to look good. You can wear $10 shirts from Walmart and look just as nice. Oh how great life would be if mascara and a quick pedicure did not cost hundreds of dollars…

Boys be grateful for your metabolism because let me tell you dieting for girls is hell. We can barely shed inches, while you have the luxury of loosing weight at the tip of a hat. Women can eat a crumb and STILL pack on the pounds. Men can cut out carbs and drop weight like flies. You can eat Chipotle and still have the body of The Rock, while girls are stuffing vegan food down their throat, barely gracing an ab.

So the next time you want to complain, put yourself in a girl’s shoes, you’ll never complain again.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Cambio

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
