When I say the word "Thanksgiving" I am sure there are multiple thoughts that pop into peoples' heads. I know "food," "travel," and "Black Friday" are a few words that come to mind, for me. This time of year is also always super busy and hectic for everyone. There are finals to worry about, Christmas gifts to purchase, and trips to prepare for.
However, I feel like many people, myself included, forget what this holiday is really about. I encourage everyone to take some time this Thanksgiving and think about what you are thankful for. Maybe even make a list of everything on a piece of paper to remind you of all the wonderful things you have when times get tough. Thanksgiving can get lost in the rush of the season, but there is so much to be thankful for and we should give it the recognition it deserves.Â
Here are a few things I am thankful for this Thanksgiving:
1. My parents, for all of their love and encouragement (and life lessons when I need them).
2. My grandma, for all the Starbucks talks and shopping trips when I go home.
3. My roommates, for being my best friends and sharing my weirdness.
4. My friends, for making me have giggle attacks and picking me up when I fall down (literally and figuratively).
5. My toy poodle who was the best Christmas present I could ever ask for.
6. The chance to attend the College of Charleston. These have been the best years of my life.
7. My sorority sisters, for always having someone to talk to in class, at an event, or walking down the street.
8. My warm and cozy home, both at school and in my hometown.
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
