To My Best Friends, I Am So Thankful For You
Kristen Rafferty

Throughout life, you meet people that you become close to essentially making them your best friends. I think that we all need to take time to thank those people because they are the ones that know us the best, and have shaped us to become the people that we are today.

Thankful for you all.

Mom and Dad- Thank you so much for putting up with me. I am so thankful that I have parents that are willing to drive three hours each way to see their daughter play the sport that she loves almost every weekend in the fall.

Thank you for always being there for me, whether it is me calling you on the phone crying when I’m having a bad day or just there to talk to me when I need someone to talk to. I know that every child always says this but I truly mean it when I say I have the best parents ever!

Love you both and thank you for everything that you have done for me. You both have shaped me into the person I am today with your constant encouragement to be the best person that I can be.

Kelly(sister)- My sister is my best friend that I will always have. I just wanted to thank you for always being there for me and helping me through the hardships in my life. It is nice to have someone that you can call twenty-four seven with your problems and them always having a solution. Keep doing you, you have such a bright future ahead of you.

Brookie(childhood best friend)- Brooke! Thank you so much for being there for me. I know it is hard to stay in touch because we both have so much going on and are two hundred miles apart.

But no matter what we always pick up where we left off when I come home or when we talk to each other. Thanks for always being there for me with all my boy drama or just hardships in life. I am so glad that we were in the same Kindergarten class. I wouldn't only consider you my best friend but a part of my family. You are the best!

Chloe- I am so thankful that college has brought us so close. In a short amount of time, we have gotten to become so close and I am so happy I am able to call you one of my best friends. So thankful that you are from Jersey and live so close so we are able to hang out in the summer.

Thank you for always being there for me when I needed someone to listen to me rant or just help me when I was upset. I am so excited to be roommates next semester. I am excited about summer and all its memories. Love you lots.

Kelsey- I am so thankful that church brought us so close. I know that no matter what is going on in my life I can call you up and you know the solution to everything. Thanks for always being there to listen to me rant for hours and hours. I also want to thank you for always being there for me no matter what. I am so excited for summer !

Gina- I am so glad we got close again. I know that we were closer when we were younger and then grew apart. However, I am thankful that high school brought us so close. I would not want anyone else to go on crazy adventures with. Thank you for always being there for me and giving me advice when I need it. Can't wait for summer and its adventures.

Leah- Leah, you are one wild chica! I am so thankful that track junior year brought us together I have no idea what I would do without you and all our crazy adventures. We have made so many memories throughout the years and I will cherish those forever. I just wanted to thank you for always being there for me whether it be boy drama or me calling you crying over something stupid. I am so excited for summer and all the crazy adventures. Love you lots!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
