Whether you know it or not, we take everyday things for granted. This may be because we aren't aware of what it's like not having those things readily available or we are just unaware of how others are living. Here are 10 things you may not realize you should be thankful for.

1. You're alive.

Being alive makes the top of the list of things to be thankful for. Many people are taking their last breaths. Make sure every breath you breathe counts.

2. Good health

Good health is frequently overlooked by most people. According to a National Health Council study in 2014, approximately 133 million Americans suffered from a chronic disease that interfered with one or more of their daily activities. If you're in good health, be thankful.

3. Your parents

The people that have loved you unconditionally deserve an infinite amount of thanks. They put up with all the stages of your life, from diapers to driving, they've always had your back.

4. Good education

Even though school can be unbearable at times, it's something to be thankful for. Having an education is a luxury.

5. Clean drinking water

Don't you love being able to get clean, cold water from your refrigerator? This is another luxury among many that we tend to not think about.

6. You're able to read

Can you read this sentence? Congrats! In 2013, nearly 32 million adults in the United States could not read. If you can read and comprehend what you're reading, be thankful.

7. Cell phones

Can you imagine not being able to check your Facebook every hour? Cell phones are something we should continually be thankful for. Thanks to cell phones, we will never have to worry about going a day without talking to the people we love.

8. Having money

If you can pay all of your bills, buy food, and have money left over to pay for your internet and a new pair of shoes, be thankful.

9. You are employed.

Having a job isn't the most fun thing in the world but be thankful that you have a job and can physically work.

10. Having good friends

Being able to talk to your friends when you need them is a blessing. Never let a good friend go.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.
