This Thanksgiving I have so much to be thankful for, so I thought I would share some of those things with you.

For starters, I think almost everyone can agree that parents are the biggest blessing, and I am not sure where I would be without them. They have sacrificed so much and given me opportunities that I am forever grateful for. Going to college and have to grow up a little bit made me realize just how much I need them. They take care of me, make sure I’m safe, support me in everything I do, and encourage me in my faith and help me grow it. I could go on and on about why I am thankful for them, but most of all I’m thankful for their unconditional love. They never let a day go by without making sure I know I am loved.

I’m also incredibly thankful for friends, old and new. They keep me grounded. They bring laughter when there is none and comfort when it’s needed. I mean honestly, what would this life be like without friends?? God has blessed with some amazing new friends since moving to Waco and they have made this new season of life so special. I love getting to experience new things with them and learn new things about each of them every day. I’m excited for the opportunities I have ahead of me to grow those friendship and also begin new ones. And as for the friends I have known for way too long (but still not long enough) nothing could ever replace the adventures and memories I have shared with them. They are constant friends who are always just a phone call away when I need them. I am so thankful (and excited) for the time I will get to catch up with them this week!

Another gift I have to thank my awesome God for is Baylor University. I don’t even know where to begin. Those who know me would agree that I’m just about the biggest fan of my school, and I talk about it way too much. But I can’t help it! It is the greatest place to be. I feel like I’m a part of something bigger here. This university has so much to offer me and everyone who steps foot on this campus. There is opportunity after opportunity to grow as a person and a Christ-follower. I don’t think people really understand how amazing this place is until they are a part of it, so I guess I won’t try to explain it. I’m just really grateful for this school and am excited to continue to grow as I experience new things every day.

Of course, there are so many more things I could talk about, and I truly have more than I could ever imagine to be grateful for. These were just a few of the things that I have had on my heart lately. So I encourage you to share with someone what you are grateful for this year. But most of all never forget our biggest blessing, the saving grace of our amazing Jesus Christ.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
