Be Thankful Every Day

Don't just be thankful on Thanksgiving.

Be Thankful Every Day

Sometimes life throws the toughest curve-balls when you are least expecting it. You find it hard to name the good things in your life, but little do you realize there are so many reasons you should be thankful. So, stop searching for the things you do not have, and start realizing the things you already have. Be thankful for those. Other people would be lucky to have what you have.

Not everyone has these things, but if you do, you should be grateful for them and many more.

  1. Your family and friends
  2. Your money
  3. Your pets
  4. Your house
  5. Your food
  6. Your clothes
  7. Your shoes
  8. Your car
  9. Your technology (phone, computer, tv, etc.)
  10. Your education
  11. Your health
  12. YOUR LIFE!

These are just 12 of the many things you should be thankful for. Even the small things like a good night's rest or your morning coffee. Be thankful for these too! Many people in the world cannot be thankful for these things because they do not have them. Imagine what your life would be like without these things. People nowadays worry about not having a cell phone. Really? That’s what you are worried about? Think of the people who have never used a cell phone in their entire lives. You can survive without one too.

Being thankful is not hard. Find the good things in your life and write them down. Do not think of what other people have and wish to have those things. Think of what you have and be grateful.

The most important thing is to be thankful for your life. I think many of us take life for granted. We’re too busy thinking about what we wish we had, and not spending enough time appreciating what we already have.

So, now that the holiday is over, remember that Thanksgiving is not the only day to be thankful on. Be thankful for everything, everyday. Do not use Thanksgiving as an excuse to only be thankful on that day. Of course, appreciate Thanksgiving too, but appreciate every other day as well.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. 11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
