Sparkle Quotes

Thanksgiving is this week and every year around this time it's a reminder of how much I have to truly be thankful for. Majority of the time we take things for granted in our life and it isn't until those things are gone that we wished we had them back. So this year for Thanksgiving I wanted to write about the five things I am thankful for and I encourage you to do the same. After reading this, tag someone who you are thankful for and let them know how much they mean to you. Sometimes it feels good to be reminded that someone is thankful for you.

1) Family

I definitely do not tell them enough how thankful I am to have them in my life. Life is hard most of the time, whether it is one thing or another, and my family has always been there for me. Through the good times and the bad I know that they are there for me no matter what. I am beyond thankful for the support they have shown me through the many years and I do not know where I would be without them by my side.

2) Friends

You guys are what make my life interesting, fun, and worth-living. I have been blessed with some of the best friends a person could ask for. I honestly don't know where I would be without you guys to party with, make me laugh, and help me figure out life. I love you guys so much and I am so thankful for each of you.

3) My Home

I grew up in a great home and still live in the same house I grew up in. When I look around I really see how lucky I am to to have grown up in such a great home and in the same hometown.

4) My Health

So even though I am not in the greatest health I have a lot to be thankful for whenever it comes to this. I have been through two heart surgeries in the past three years and I am still here to tell about it and that's the point, I'm still here. It hasn't always been easy, and still isn't, but I see so many other people who are going through worse things and realize how truly thankful I should be for my health.

5) My Life

This is something that I think we all take for granted most of the time but don't mean to. See at the end of the day, this is something we should all be thankful for every single day because whether or not your life is great or bad, it's your life. It's your life to live it however you want and we should be thankful for everyday that we wake up.

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.
