A roommate can be many things. They can be a confidant, a study buddy, and if you're lucky like I am, they can be a best friend. Every day, I try to remind my roommate just how much she means to me, but here are some little things that you should thank your roommate for that you might forget.
Thank you for...
1. Turning off the lights when they're done studying at night.
2. Letting you use their micro-fridge because you don't have your own.
3. Listening to you rant about that irritating person in your English class.
4. Staying up late studying with you, not because they have to, but because they want to keep you company.
5. Going to get food with you from the dining hall, even though they've already eaten.
6. Waking you up in the morning for your 8 a.m. class.
7. Waking you up from your afternoon nap so that you don't miss a meeting with a professor.
8. Not stealing your clothes without asking.
9. Giving you outfit advice when you don't know what to wear.
10. Introducing you to new people and forcing you to meet new friends.
11. Cleaning the bathroom, because you don't want to.
12. Taking out the trash, because she is a saint.
13. Always being willing to go on an adventure, no matter what is going on.
14. Not complaining when you take ridiculously long showers.
15. Helping you with homework, because they are better in a class than you are.
16. Supporting your dreams, even if you don't know what they are yet.
17. Pushing you outside of your comfort zone.
18. Not complaining about your erratic sleeping schedule.
19. Asking you how your day was and actually caring about your response.
20. Sharing their food with you, even though they don't have to.
21. Cleaning the dishes, even if they didn't use them.
22. Not getting mad when you listen to music without headphones in.
23. Not being mad when your stuff is all over the room.
24. Not being mad when your side of the room is a mess.
25. Being the best roommate and friend you could have ever asked for.
