There’s a chill in the air, a song in our hearts, and the stress of finals is merely indicative of the nearness of a break. Winter is coming! For some, winter is the most wonderful season of the year. For others, winter means curling up under a blanket and basically hibernating until the temperatures rise. Either way, there is good to come from this season and I want to point out some of its joys.
Winter means...
- Sweater weather.
- Scarves.
- Leggings!
- Rosy cheeks.
- Hairy legs.
- "Elf!"
- Christmas music.
- Break from school.
- Colorful lights.
- Hot chocolate.
- Time with family
- Time with your dog!
- Magic in the air.
- Gingerbread.
- Blankets.
- A year ending.
- A new year beginning.
- Traveling.
- Poinsettias.
- Warm hugs.
- Happy tears.
- Memories.
- Baking.
- "A thrill of hope..."
- "...The weary world rejoices."
I am so thankful for this season and how it is marked by the birth of our world’s hope and our personal Savior. I am thankful that we get to enjoy brisk air and desserts, and I am thankful for those that I learn to love a little bit extra this season. Thanks, winter, for the beautiful reminder every day of what is important and how to be joyful about it.
