To all Veterans: past, present, and future.
I want to start off by saying THANK YOU ! Thank you for risking your life for all of us. Thank you for pushing your fear down and finding the courage to leave your family and friends not knowing if you would ever see them again. Thank you for protecting us from enemies that we can only imagine. Thank you for being the backbone of this country and thank you for being my hero.
The world today can often be quite scary and unknown. People complain about not having the latest thing or wishing they were somewhere else. There are even some who disrespect you by sitting down during the National Anthem. But please remember that there are those of us still out there that look at you and give you the respect and honor that you deserve. But you deserve way more than that. Quite frequently, Veterans are not appreciated as much as they should be. Yes, we honor you on Veteran's day, but that is not enough! You risked your life for us and we owe everything to you.
No matter what your role was when protecting our country, you ARE important and I cannot thank you enough. There are some that left our country and never returned. And for that, we can never repay. But you are in our thoughts daily and we pray for your family. For those of you overseas now, I cannot imagine what you are feeling. Every single person is not oblivious to fear and yet you sign-up to protect everyone not knowing what will happen.
You are part of a legacy of service, of selfless courage for people you have never met. Thank you. Thank you for putting your lives on the line so that I can live my life freely.
To our past, present, and future military men and women, thank you for doing what I could never do. You are our guardian angles and you deserve the best of everything. But I am sorry that you do not always get that. I am sorry that we sometimes forget how important you really are.
Your husbands, wives, children, family; they are heroes themselves for sharing you with us. So thank you for defending them, for defending me. Even though we do not always show it, we really do honor you in a way that cannot be described.
Today might be Veteran's Day, but every single day I am honored to wake up in a nation that is protected by amazing people such as you. Thank you for giving your all, just so we can live. Thank you for being a hero.
I know that people are very hostile and angry at America right now, but please remember what this day is all about. These amazing people risked their lives so you could have the right to be angry and not face consequences. Take a moment and forget about all of the politics, thank a veteran because without them, there would be no us.
