A Thank You To The Dads In My Life
Gabi Eierman

Some of the people that mean the most to me are the dad's in my life. I think that the dedication that they have put into me, is something that is often overlooked. I want to take a few minutes to thank those special men for everything they have done for me. I would not be who I am today without their influence, commitment, and love.

Thank you to the dad that taught me how to drive. You trusted me with something as precious as your life. Thank you for believing in me even when I made mistakes. The patience that you had with me is something that I will never be able to repay you. Driving is something that I will do for the rest of my life, so I am constantly reminded of your impact on my life.

Thank you to the dad that gave me a pep talk after my first heart break. I honestly cannot remember what you whispered in my ear that day, but I know that it gave me so much comfort. You helped me remember my worth is more than what a boy thinks about me. I knew from that day on that I was not going to settle for anything less than I deserve.

Thank you to the dad of my boyfriend. You have helped to create and raise the guy that I love so dearly. Without you, I would not know the love that he gives me. I am thankful for your undying support of our relationship.

Thank you to the dad that fostered my faith. I am so thankful for the way you poured you heart into the mission of God. You have made me laugh and cry. But, ultimately, you showed me how to be persistent in prayer and hope through the hardest times. You saw a potential in my that I could not see in myself.

Thank you to the dad of my dad. You were an amazing man that loved me with all your heart. You loved my grandmothers and showed me what a great husband looks like. You showed my dad how to love and how to find joy in what he does. You taught me how to have fun and how to laugh at myself.

Thank you to the dad of the girl I babysit. You have reminded me of why dads are important in a young girls life. I look to you as an example of the type of dad I want my husband to be. You have shown dedication to the girl God placed in your care. You are kind, loving, and patient, even when it is not difficult.

Thank you to the dad who I am blessed to call mine. You have always been my hero. You have never faltered or become unstable. When I need a shoulder to cry on or a great big hug, you are always there. You have loved me through the good and the bad. I always feel safe with you and know that you will always protect me. Thank you for being my rock and sacrificing for me.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
