Soccer is a sport loved by people world wide. Soccer brings people together, just like it brought my dad and I closer! My Dad and I share a special bond over soccer that I would not trade for anything! There are several things that I could thank him for, however here are just a few of the many...

Thank you for putting me in AYSO and starting this whole journey!

Thank you for all of the seasons that you and mom had to pack after game goodie bags…. those were the best.

Thank you for buying me my first soccer bag, I may have been a tiny 7 year old but I felt like Alex Morgan.

Thank you for never missing a game or practice.

Thank you for pushing me to the next level by encouraging me to tryout for travel.

Thank you for stepping up and coaching when necessary.

Thank you for driving me all across the state and to out of state tournaments.

Thank you for dealing with my smelly, sweaty self on the long car rides home.

Thank you for buying me all of the coolest cleats.

Thank you for pushing me no matter how frustrated I got with you.

Thank you for practicing in the backyard with me, and for taking me to the field to shoot around.

Thank you for making me strive to be the best player I could be.

Thank you for all the urgent care trips that you had to take…

Thank you for pushing me so hard that I was able to play varsity soccer all four years of high school.

Thank you for helping me to accomplish all of my soccer goals.

Thank you for being the loudest and proudest soccer dad around…. even if that did mean constantly yelling at the refs….

Thank you for all of the money you put into my soccer career.

Thank you for all of the good luck messages.

Thank you for always pushing me, no matter how hard I fought you about it…

Thank you for giving me a passion that I will have for a lifetime!

But most importantly, thank you for being the best soccer dad you could be. Without you I wouldn’t be who I am today! I will forever be thankful for the bond that we share over soccer. I will always cherish all of the memories we have that developed because of soccer, and all of the future memories to come. I love you so much!

Thank you again, Dad!

Love,

Daddy’s little soccer princess

Happy Father's Day 2016, Dad! I love you!

xoxo, Nicole

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
