A Thank You To My Roomie: As Told By Rachel And Monica
The Odyssey Online

As second semester of freshman year is coming to an end, I can definitely say that one of the very best things about this year has been rooming with my best friend. We've been inseparable since the 6th grade and taking on college together has proven to be no exception. Rooming together has practically turned us into sisters.

So, here is a 'thank you' to my roomie and best friend (as told by Rachel and Monica)...

1. Thank you for cheering me up when I've had a bad day...

College is stressful; thank you for always being there for me when I need you the most. You always know how to cheer me up, whether that involves midnight ice cream runs or just driving around town singing along to Taylor Swift at the top of our lungs.

2. Thank you for letting me borrow your clothes...

You always let me raid your closet when I get tired of my own clothes and have no money to go shopping. You're the best!

3. Thank you for waking me up in the morning so I'm not late for class...

8ams are rough.. thanks making sure I don't sleep through my alarms. You're a life saver!

4. Thank you for celebrating with me...

Made an A on my paper? A cute boy said "hey" to me? I finally cleaned my room? Everything is a celebration with you! Thanks for constantly encouraging me and bringing so much joy into my life.

5. Thank you for being my mom-away-from-home...

You take care of me when I'm sick, drive me to class, pick me up from class, and you come to all of my intramural inner tube water polo games...thanks "mom" I love you!

6. Thank you for being my best friend...

You are my very best friend and I'm so thankful that rooming together has made our friendship grow even stronger! Love you!!!

birthday party

My birthday has never been my favorite holiday. I've found that I'm more excited to celebrate my friends' and family members' birthdays more than my own. I don't like being the center of attention, so I usually celebrate over dinner with a small group of family and friends. This way, I can enjoy myself naturally without feeling like I have to entertain everyone and make sure they are satisfied. In the past when I've had large parties, I was so nervous that people weren't perfectly content that I didn't enjoy myself at my own celebration.

College Informations

Most of us have already started the spring semester, and for those of you who haven't started yet, you suck.

It seems like coming back from winter break wouldn't really be a break all things considered, since we all come back to school and pick up right where we left off. We know exactly what to expect, yet we're unprepared every single time.

I'm serious

There are tons of unisex names that are popular: Taylor, Alex, Bailey, etc. There are also numerous names that are used for both sexes, but they’re not seen as “unisex” yet. People are slowly becoming accustomed to the dual use of these names, but for the most part, in their minds they associate certain names with certain sexes. And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

16 Secrets Anthropology Majors Never Admit To

You know that all of these things apply to you. You'll just never tell.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.
