Here's to you both.

Thank You Mom And Dad

I have so many reasons to be grateful for my parents. I know everybody says this, but I truly do have the best parents in the world. I know for a fact that I am the person that I am today because of the love they have shown me over the years.

Thank you for always being my biggest supporters.

You both have supported me in almost every single decision I have ever made, and made sure to let me know that you would be there for me no matter what. You both always make sure to let me make my own decisions, and to back me up with whatever I do, but give me guidance as to when I do something wrong. Whether it was when I changed majors, when I needed a pick-me-up because of the test(s) I failed at college, when I was having a bad day, or when I wasn't feeling well, you both have always made sure to make everything better just by believing in me.

Thank you for unconditionally loving me.

I know this one sometimes may not be easy, but you both have always made sure to tell me and show me that I am loved every single day. There isn't anything that you guys wouldn't do for me, and you are both always there for me no matter what situation I may be in.

Thank you for taking care of me when I am sick.

Which is a lot. Every single time I've gone to the emergency room, you have either taken me or rushed six hours to come to me and be with me. Every single surgery I've had you have both been by my side when I have gone in, and when I have come out. And on a lesser note, you both rock at taking care of me when I have sinus infections and am miserable!

Thank you for being the cool parents.

Out of all of my friends' parents, you guys have always been the cool ones. You both have never had a problem with me going out and making plans, having people over, sleeping out places, so long as I tell you where I am, who i'm with, and when i'll be home. For the most part, you trust me to do what I want as when I want, and I've always appreciated that. I know it can't be easy having a daughter as independent as me, but you do a good job of parenting me and also being my best friends at the same time.

Thank you for everything you pay for and buy me.

Seriously, thank you. Whether it is my school loans, taking care of my financial aid, paying for gas and insurance on my car, or even just paying for my living expenses, nothing goes unappreciated. Thank you for paying for my credit card bills too, because we all know i'm a huge shopper!

Thank you for letting me adopt all the animals.

No more cats has turned into four cats and one dog. While you may have been against each cat when I rescued them and insisted why they needed a home in our home, thank you for not kicking them out (and me out).

Thank you for wanting whats best for me.

Even though I may not see it, I know you both have my best interest at heart with whatever I do. I may get super mad and angry at the time being, but in the long run, you both usually are right about whatever the case may be.

Thank you for always being honest with me.

Yeah, except for the tooth fairy, Santa, blah blah blah. You both tell me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear. You both have no problem telling me like it is, even when I don't want to hear it.

Thank you for being my best friends.

Not many people can say that their mom and their dad are both their best friends. Well, both of my parents are mine. I feel equally close to both of you, and for that I am thankful.

I really do have the best parents, and I am so thankful for everything that they do for me. I love you both, mom and dad!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
