I'm so lucky to still be so close to my first childhood friend. We would do anything and everything for each other. I hope you can still call your first childhood friend one of your best friends. We've been friends since the first day of pre-k. How many people can say that?
Dear best friend,
I hope you know how special and loved you are. I don't know if I say it enough, but I'm so thankful for you and your friendship. I'm sorry that we don't talk near as much as I want to. Growing up kind of sucks sometimes.
I still remember that first day we met. I'm not sure how we decided we would be friends, but it was a pretty instant thing. What's funny is that both our parents thought that they'd have trouble dropping us off and getting us to play with other kids because we were both such homebodies. But remember what happened? They became friends because they would drop us off at the same time every day.
Being such good friends for so long has given us a whole lot of memories. You know more about me than I probably would like to admit. We've gone through times in our lives when we were far apart, but we always end up closer than we ever thought.
Growing up, we were never apart. We were always together, whether it was your house or mine. It seemed like we were always together, we may as well have just lived together. There have been times when we were hundreds of miles apart, and still are most of the time since I go to college out of state.
I'm so happy that our friendship hasn't wavered through all this. I don't know what I'd do without you in my life. You have helped me through so much and I could never repay you for that and for listening to all my stories multiple times.
I really hate living so far away from you while I'm in college, but that makes what time we have together over breaks and when I get to come home that much more special. Thank you for always being that constant in my life and always backing me up, even if I'm wrong. You're definitely my person.
Love,
Your first childhood friend.
