A Thank You To Every Teacher I've Ever Had

Teachers in our society are greatly undervalued. Our parents or guardians do make an impact on our learning and our knowledge, but our teachers are the ones who mold and shape the intelligence we have and make it greater. I could never thank every teacher I've had over the past 14 years enough for what they've done for me and how they've all shaped my mind in some way for the better.

Through pre-school, kindergarten, elementary school, middle school, and high school, I was exposed to an array of over 50 teachers in 7 different buildings and locations within the same ten mile radius of each other. I was part of two school districts, and I learned so much each year I went through school.

Every teacher I've ever had supplied me with new knowledge, a different outlook on life, and provided me with new skills as I moved on in my education. I was lucky enough to have amazing teachers throughout my education, and I'm sure the amazing influx of teachers will never end as I continue my education.

This thank you is just a small way to show appreciation for the wonderful adults that pushed me to be where I am today. I wouldn't be the same student or person without all of these teachers in my life.

First of all, thank you for educating me. Thank you for giving me the knowledge to advance myself to a college education. You have shaped my mind in a way that I was able to become part of honors and advance my mind in ways I never could have imagined. I believe I was put in the best schools, where I received the best education I could have ever received.

Thank you for always believing in me and giving me the support I needed to thrive. Students are not much without the support of their teachers, and I was lucky enough to had teachers that cared a lot about my education and my success.

Thank you for spending countless hours outside of school grading papers, writing letters of recommendation, making lesson plans, and continuing your education just to better your students. Being a teacher is so much more than spending 8 hours at school. Your work does not end when you leave the school, it only continues for hours, and I am grateful for all the extra work you do.

I could never be thankful enough for the great teachers I've had in my life. Our teachers are so under appreciated and under valued, even though they are the educators for every occupation.

I know you may not hear it enough, so here is a thank you from every student you've ever had. This thank you is for all the hard work and dedication you put into your job each and every day.

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
