We don't say it often enough, and sometimes we might not even realize just how much they deserve it.
Recently, I had a patient tell me my parents did an amazing job raising me and should be proud of who I have become. And I realized, she said to thank my parents, giving them credit for the person they raised into a self-sufficient human being contributing to society.
And she was totally right..
My parents are wonderful and selfless, and I can't imagine two better people for parents. They both work very hard and achieve wonderful things, but they are able to be the most humble and kind. I am so very blessed to call them my parents.
They are my role models and my biggest fans, and without them I am not sure what I would do. But, everyone feels that way about their parents and everyone always should. Yet, we don't say exactly how much we appreciate them or say "I love you" enough.
Parents give up so much of their time, so much of themselves, to raise their children, because we are their reflection and legacy. They care so much for us that they stop their lives and rearrange everything around us. I guess that is something we won't understand until we have our own children, and hope with wonderful parents to have as role models we can do the same for our future.
