I have been waiting since May 4, 2012 for the Avengers to finally fight a worthy adversary, and after seeing “Avengers: Infinity War,” I can happily say that the wait is now over. Thanos is the villain that all Marvel fans have been waiting for, and I guarantee that he does not disappoint.

After watching the Avengers deal with opponents that clearly were not going to win, (like Loki, and Ultron), the Avengers movies were beginning to disappoint me. After all, Thor could easily defeat Loki by himself, so having a whole movie where he is the main super villain was kind of a letdown. Then I had to watch Ultron’s robot body get destroyed constantly, while the Avengers made it seem like they were going to lose to him, when in actuality, we all knew that Ultron did not stand a chance.

And then, finally, I saw the “Avengers: Infinity War” trailer. Now of course, I knew that from the comics that Thanos was a super powerful villain, but I was not sure how strong he would be in the actual film. The Marvel films do follow the comics in some aspects, but they are also drastically different from them. So basically, I was nervous about “Infinity War.”

However, when I entered the theater and the movie started, my nerves immediately disappeared because of what appeared on the screen. Right at the beginning of the movie, we see Thanos showing his dominance by easily defeating Thor and the Hulk without breaking a sweat. In all of the Marvel films to date, we have never seen a villain defeat the Hulk and Thanos beats him up so badly, that the Hulk is afraid to fight for the rest of the film! This was incredible to witness, but it wasn’t even the most shocking moment in the film.

A few seconds later, Thanos kills Loki, Heimdall, all of Thor’s people, and we are led to believe that he killed Thor as well (of course we all know that he did not kill Thor because it was the beginning of the movie). This is a big deal, and it is something that no other Marvel villain has ever done before. Thanos means business.

Of course, even though he does wreak havoc at the beginning of the film, how often do we see a super villain look incredibly strong in the opening scenes of a film, but then look incredibly weak towards the end? This happens all too often. I will admit that I was concerned that this might happen to Thanos by the end of the film, but thankfully I was wrong. He continued to create more chaos throughout the world for the rest of the film, and believe it or not, he actually ends up winning!

Thanos’ goal is to collect all of the Infinity stones so that he can easily wipe out half of the world’s population. He wants to do this because he believes that the world is out of balance and it is overpopulated. By the end of the film, Thanos collects all of the stones, and he is able to accomplish the goal that he set out to do. Thanos wins! After using the Infinity stones, the audience is forced to watch many of our beloved heroes perish into thin air. Heroes like T’Challa, Spider-Man, Winter Soldier (whether or not you consider him to be a hero is debatable), Scarlet Witch, and many more heroes are gone. I did not expect this to happen at all while watching this movie. It left me feeling sad, shocked, confused, amazed, and simply dumbfounded. I know that I wanted a strong villain to appear in Avengers, and I definitely got my wish. Now, in the next Avengers film, I already know that this is going to be the toughest fight that the Avengers have ever faced. I am already looking forward to it and I probably have to wait over a year before it even hits theaters.

Even though I was left emotionally tormented by the end of “Infinity War,” I am happy that Marvel has finally created a fierce and menacing villain, because it was about time for the Avengers to get their butts kicked.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Recently I completed my freshman year of college, and boy, what an experience. It was a completely new learning environment and I can't believe how much I learned. In an effort to save time, here are the ten biggest lessons I learned from my first year of college.

1. Everyone is in the same boat

For me, the scariest part of starting school was that I was alone, that I wouldn't be able to make any friends and that I would stick out. Despite being told time and time again that everyone had these same feelings, it didn't really click until the first day when I saw all the other freshman looking as uneasy and uncomfortable as me. Therefore, I cannot stress this enough, everyone is feeling as nervous as you.
