A Thank You To My Superhero
Emma Cassaday Chambers

This is for the man who made me who I am today. My dad is more to me than just my father. He is my role model, my hero, and my best friend. He is the one who has taught me countless life lessons and who has pushed me to be the person I am today. So dad this is a thank you letter to you, a thank you for being my superhero, guardian angel, and shoulder to cry on.

Without you I don’t know where I would be; I would be lost. You are someone who I can always trust, who I will always respect, and who I can count on for all things.

You mean the world to me and I am so thankful for a man who believes in me the way you do. I am overwhelmed with the amount of support you give me and I am beyond grateful for all the advice you have given me over the years. You have more faith in me then anyone, and you encourage me to always do my best, to never quit because it is okay to fail as long as you try again.

I get some many amazing qualities from you. I have learned from you that it’s not stubbornness in me, it is persistence; the force inside of me that pushes me to be the very best form of myself and to never give up on what you started. It's your voice in my head that guides me to make good decisions and that motivates me to the best I can in all that I do. I am thankful that you never once have given up on me, you will be there for me and will protect me always.

The way you protect the ones you love with your whole heart, you are respectful and kind. You have protected me and don't want me to ever get hurt. I know that you want the very best for me in all aspects of life from my education, to my future career, and especially the man who will care for your little girl one day in the future because you never want to see my heart be broken. Because of the man you are, I have a clear picture of how a man should treat a women.Thank you for being my protector.

You have taught me I can do anything I put my mind too, that I can achieve any goal when I put the work into it, and that I can do great things with the gifts I have been given. You have always encouraged me to do what makes me happy and most the time what makes me happiest is when I am working alongside you. Thanks for treating me like your princess but also like a “son” all at the same time; for teaching me how to get my hands dirty and that I can be independent and fierce, while at the same time showing me that I deserve respect and to treated like a lady. I am grateful that I can be your princess and the “son you never had” all at once.

Above all else, thank you for showing me that I am loved not only by you, but also by my heavenly father. You have shown me how to trust God the same way I trust you. You have shown me that I am worthy of his love and that he loves me the same way you love me. Thank you for pushing me in my faith and keeping me accountable in it. You are one of the best examples in showing trust in God, you have given it all to him and have let him lead you to where you are today and that is what I want for myself; a faith like yours.

Dad, you are the one I will always look up to and I will love you always. Thank you for being the man you are; for teaching me, protecting, me, believing in me and pushing me. But most of all, thank you for loving your crazy,

loud, energetic daughter. She is forever grateful of your love and support and she will never be able to describe how extremely grateful she is to have a superhero like you for a father.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
