Dear Show Choir,
Thank you.
Thank you for the way you taught me to come out of my shell. I was quiet, nerdy, weird. Now, I'm just nerdy and weird.
Thank you for giving me a second family. The people I met while I was in show choir are some of the kindest, most caring people I know. And I would have no idea who they were if it weren't for you.
Thank you for making me laugh uncontrollably. Those people who became my family also made me laugh harder than anyone else ever could.
Thank you for teaching me how to strut. That one sassy song we did, yeah that one, taught me that I had more sass in my body than I though possible. It feels good to bring it out.
Thank you for teaching me more than I care to know about sequins and bobby pins. The fact that I find theses things literally everywhere after having been out of show choir for almost a year should really say something about how familiar I became with them.
There are so many more things I could thank you for but these are just the few I can put into words. But, seriously, thank you for giving me everything I had in high school.
Love always,
That annoying show choir kid
