Thank You To My Roommates

You never judged me whenever I asked my mom about our dog.

Thank You To My Roommates

As it comes to the end of another year in college, it's hard to say goodbye to people who lived with you every night and day. I was lucky enough to have two amazing roommates for two years. College can be a rough time for some people, being away from home is hard. But having amazing roommates makes college a little bit easier. The perk of having two roommates is that they were your first friend at college. Even though we didn't get along at sometimes, we still had some great memories. I have a lot to be thankful from my roommates, I learned a lot about them and a lot about myself while living in a small dorm room. So roomies, here is everything I want to thank you guys for.

Thank you for being my first friend. When I found out I was in a triple room, I saw it as a good thing. That meant I would have two first friends instead of just one. You guys were the two people who opened up to me and allowed me to be one of your friends.

Thank you for getting food with me...a lot. You guys were always down to go to the crappy cafeteria with me whether it was for real food or just ice cream. Even if I was with just one of you, that helped me for not having to sit alone. You guys never judged me for how much I put on my plate, and vice versa. We just knew that was an unspoken rule of our friendship.

Thank you for hearing about my life at home a lot. Whenever I called my family or friends, you never judged me for laughing like a fool. Or never judged me whenever I asked my mom about our dog.

Thank you for sharing things with me when I was to lazy to get my own thing. Whenever I ran out of things and was too lazy or broke to replace it, you let me use yours. Especially food, thank you for giving me food that you didn't want.

Thank you for always taking care of me. Whether I was sick or just a emotional mess, you always made sure I was okay. When I was sick you always made sure I had enough medicine and food.

Thank you for listening me complain about my major. We all had moments when we were debating why we chose our major. Yes we all have three different majors, and they are all hard in our own way. Also thanks for listening to me complain about dumb general education classes we have to take. No one should have to hear someone talk about art history and why we have it as a class.

Thank you for being you. Having roommates is truly a learning experience, and we all learned different things from each other.

I'm sad to not be living with you guys next year, but I know we stay in contact. We will always have the memories we made together. Thank you guys for everything and I love you both! See you in the Fall!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
