Thank You Pavel Datsyuk

There have been many great players that have worn the winged wheel -- Brendan Shanahan, Sergei Fedorov, Steve Yzerman, Gordie Howe and Nicklas Lidstrom -- to name a few -- but there may never be a player that will attract us with what he did with his stick like Pavel did!

I could go on and post a bunch of highlights, but let's be honest, we aren't ready for the waterworks just yet... plus we are all aware at what the Magic Man was capable of... After all, even Siri knew who the Magic Man was!

This is simply just an open letter saying thank you, Pavel.

Thank you for the memories.

Thank you for the determination.

Thank you for leading us to several victories.

Thank you for being a joy to watch.

Thank you for the goals and plays that left us in awe.

Thank you for the magic.

But most importantly, thank you for representing the Winged Wheel well!

You will truly never be forgotten and we in Hockeytown understand the reasoning behind your decision. However, if you did play your last game as a Red Wing, this is not a goodbye; it is a see you later.... We will see you back in Detroit in the future... Maybe to even see your number 13 raised to the rafters with the other greats!

And that leaves those of us with these names in many awkward situations.

I'm an anthropology major, and I love every minute of it. I couldn't tell you why, but I guess there's just something about studying different lifestyles that absolutely fascinates me. But anthropology majors definitely have our weird sides, especially when you go to a school that is filled with mostly Business and Bio majors. But us weirdos definitely have a lot in common, specifically these 16 things.

pale girl

Everyone has insecurities, that's just a fact. You didn't ask to be born this way. You didn't ask to inherit the one trait no one else in your family has. And you definitely didn't ask to be this ghostly white. But as soon as you've learned to live with it for a while (less wrinkles later on in life, right? right???) someone has to ruin it for you. They have to flaunt they're perfectly tanned body from Spring Break and hold their sun-kissed skin against yours. But I've had enough... here are the things that perpetually pale individuals are tired of hearing.

Being a part of any organization undoubtedly comes with the pitfalls of being grouped into negative stereotypes, and sororities are certainly no exception. Here are the top few things, that I find at least, are some of the most irritating misconceptions that find their way into numerous conversations...

8. "The whole philanthropy thing isn't real, right?"

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?
