A Thank You Note To The High School Teacher I Never Had

Thanks for always being there for me.

A Thank You Note To The High School Teacher I Never Had

We all had the teachers in high school that we never had, but somehow had a connection with. Whether their classroom was next to a classroom you had a class in, or they were the teacher adviser for a club. Maybe they were even our coach for the sport we played. They always seemed to be there when you needed them most. It did not seem to matter to them that you were not one of their students. They treated you as if you were one of theirs. These are teachers that we all wish we could have had.

To The High School Teacher Who Was Always There,

Thank you for always having a smile on your face.

The smile you always had put one on my face every time I saw you even if I was in a bad mood.

Thank you for always being willing to talk to me about non-school things.

It was so much easier to talk to you because I was not in any of your classes ever. Whether it be crushes, potential jobs or family problems.

Thank you for always asking how I was doing.

Sometimes the teachers I had got too busy with classwork that they did not seem like they cared how us students were doing outside of class.

Thank you for always cheering me on.

You always knew I could do whatever I set my mind to.

Thank you for always checking that I did my homework.

Because you always cared how I was doing academically, although I was not in your class.

Thank you for leading the clubs I was involved in.

You always knew how to have fun!

Thank you for always being there when I needed a shoulder to lean on.

You always seemed to know what to say when I was having a breakdown about some silly assignment or something bad happened in my life.

Thank you for letting me use your room as a storage closet.

Because we all know that the locker the school gives us is way to small to fit everything we need in it. Plus, the passing period was never long enough to go my locker, but I would always pass by your room.

Thank you for listening to all my complaints about the school.

You of course joined in on them too.

Thank you for always being willing to write a recommendation letter.

You may not have had me as a student, but you knew me as well as you did your own students.

Thank you for making me try new/scary things.

Without you, I would not have done many of the things that I have done. Trust me you got me to do things I would have never dreamed I would be able to do.

For always saying hi to me in the hallway.

Because that always made my day.

And for being a role model.

Now you may not feel like a role model, but let's be serious you are.

You made a huge impact on my life. There is no way I will ever be able to forget you.

Sincerely,

The Student You Never Had

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
