A Thank You Note To My Best Friend

We’ve all had those friends who know you better than you know yourself. They can read your mind and you can read theirs.

A Thank You Note To My Best Friend
Emma Epperly

When I met you, I was confused. To me, you seemed to be the classic tomboy at first glance. You clearly loved the gym, football, and your guy friends. So, as the typical girly girl, I thought we would stay acquaintances. It just took me one serious conversation to realize I’d completely misjudged you.

You are the most traditional and classy lady I know. Not a single person I know can say a bad thing about you because you take the time to treat everyone you meet with respect. When you become friends with someone you are kind and thoughtful no matter what.

As we started to become friends I realized you were very guarded, so I decided to pester you until you let me in. I tend to think I’m an open book. but you’re one of the first people who has learned to read in between the lines. So that’s my first thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to truly get to know me. You’re always willing to listen when I have something to tell you or when I want to ramble about my day. You’re willing to just spend time with me doing whatever silly things we feel like. You know you’ve got a great friend when they know the good the bad and the ugly about you but still want to spend time with you.

Thank you for inspiring me. Whether it’s your work ethic, maturity, class or just making me go to the gym, you inspire me to be the best version of myself. The way you handle tough situations with grace reminds me that taking the high road is always the best choice.

Thank you for telling me when I’m wrong. I’m not perfect (and you definitely know that). No one likes to be told when they’re out of line, but a good friend like you knows just the right way to let me know I've messed up. It’s a blessing to have a friend who has my back even when I’m a little crazy.

Thank you for having fun with me. I can tend to be an extremely serious person and so can you, but you always remind me to put work aside and just go have fun. Whether that fun is sitting in the kitchen making jokes, running around Walmart, or getting some froyo, you remind me to have a good time whenever possible.

It’s so rare to find a true friend and I’m so thankful I’ve found one in you. You bring so many laughs, lots of joy, and loads of inspiration to my life every single day. I know that you’ll be there for me no matter what. I’m glad you’ve let me into your life and continually let me drag you around on all my little adventures. I don’t know what I would do without you in my life, Sophie, so thanks for being here.

When you read this, think about your friends and remember to thank the good ones and never take them for granted.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"

While this question trend can get annoying, there are a couple of pros to having RBF.

Yify

Another day, another Elle Woods comment. Can’t us blondes get through the day without someone harping at us over the typical stereotypes about who we are? I never understood why a person was judged based upon the hair color they were born with, or the hair color they choose to have (unless you dye your hair blue like Kylie Jenner, I’m still trying to understand why that’s a trend). Nevertheless, as it should be assumed, not everyone is the same. Not all blondes like bright colors and Lilly Pulitzer, and not all blondes claim to identify with Marilyn Monroe. I think the best suggestion to give to people before they make such radical claims is to stop judging a book by its cover. Or in this case, stop judging a blonde by her hair color.
