Thank You For Being My Person

I know this is only so much, but thank you

Thank You For Being My Person
Hannah Tamul

As Meredith from Grey's Anatomy would say: "You're my person."

I can't explain why we work the way we do. We've known each other for almost five years. We use to hate each other. It was probably because we were so alike. This is why I can't say thank you enough:

Thank you for not being my day one. It is okay that you were not there since you've been there every time other than that. No matter what happened, where it happened and why it happened you stopped and patiently listened.

Thank you for being the funniest, talented, special, caring soul you are. We don't get to many special things in our lives and you are definitely one.

Thank you for letting me get mad. You may not always take my advice but you listen and at least considered what to do.

Thank you for your forgiveness. I messed up a couple times along our friendship. It took a lot for you to forgive me. I have regretted it since the day it happened. You know what I mean about the year that we went our separate ways. I would not know what I would do now if I did not have you in my life.

Thank you for the countless times you made me laugh. I'll never forget when we would always laugh when we were trying to eat and I'd complain about the stomach ache I would have after. I wouldn't really complain though because I cherish those moments with you everyday.

Thank you for sitting with me listening to me complain until I was blue in the face. Remember the countless times I cried, made no sense at all, and it is not over yet.

Thank you for agreeing to one day living with me and putting up with over excitement about this part in our life.

Thank you for not giving up on me. I went through one hell of a year with depression, anxiety, and weight gain. I did not want to go out or do fun things but you stood by my side.

Thank you for almost setting my house on fire and reassuring my fears that there are in fact aliens. Like the big blue flash that came before the giant flame from the cream cheese.

Thank you for sending me the longest, sweetest, most special text message to me before my surgery.

Thank you for coming to my hospital room after I looked like a hot mess and making sure your best friend was still there.

Thank you for sitting with me a couple days after my surgery and helping me as much as you could.

Lastly, Thank you for everything you have done for me. You've been through the good, the bad, the ugly. I can't tell you enough how much you mean to me. I am so grateful to have you in my life. You are my person and we just click that's why I love you.

You know who you are and I hope this tells you how much I appreciate you doing all that you do for me.

You are so special to me.

I love you best friend.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.

Blair Waldorf
Stop Hollywood

For those of you who have watched "Gossip Girl" before (and maybe more than just once), you know how important of a character Blair Waldorf is. Without Blair, the show doesn’t have any substance, scheme, or drama. Although the beginning of the show started off with Blair’s best friend Serena returning from boarding school, there just simply is no plot without Blair. With that being said, Blair’s presence in the show in much more complex than that. Her independent and go-getter ways have set an example for "Gossip Girl" fans since the show started and has not ended even years after the show ended. Blair never needed another person to define who she was and she certainly didn’t need a man to do that for her. When she envisioned a goal, she sought after it, and took it. This is why Blair’s demeanor encompasses strong women like her.

Singing is something I do all day, every day. It doesn't matter where I am or who's around. If I feel like singing, I'm going to. It's probably annoying sometimes, but I don't care -- I love to sing! If I'm not singing, I'm probably humming, sometimes without even realizing it. So as someone who loves to sing, these are some of the feelings and thoughts I have probably almost every day.
