Thank You, Mr. Stark

To the superhero that impacted my life more than even I knew.

Thank You, Mr. Stark

Dear Tony Stark,

This might seem weird because I'm writing it to a fictional character that originates from a comic universe, but I need to just get it out after seeing Avengers: Endgame.

I got into the MCU thanks to my uncle who loves comics more than he loves life. My uncle is the older brother I never had and my fascination with the MCU began when he lived with us and introduced me to it.

He taught me all of the superhero names, their powers, origin stories and how to keep up with all of the movies and additional characters that would trickle in during the next 11 years of these movies that would quickly take over my heart.

My uncle dragged me to see every MCU Avengers-sy movie in theaters since the first Iron Man came out, who happens to be his favorite character.

I saw this whole universe, started by Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark unfold before me as the movies and storylines kept on developing.

These movies are the foundation for my relationship with my uncle, who eventually moved back to Mexico during my senior year of high school and just a couple of weeks before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Needless to say, I was more than bummed when I realized I would have to see this universe close out without my uncle by my side for every movie in the theaters.

But like thanks to you, I still found something to constantly talk to my uncle about. I found something that made me feel like he was still here with me even though we are hundreds of miles apart. You welcomed me into a universe that helped me deal with my uncle leaving and still help me to this day coping with the fact that I don't get the chance to go and see these movies with him every opening night like we used to.

You were the superhero that brought us together and the one that will keep our relationship strong.

I love you 3000, Stark.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Advice To Live By As Told By Bob's Burgers

The Belchers hold the key to a better life.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
