Thank You, Mom
Cassady Thompson

Dear Mom,

Where do I even begin? I know I have said it a million times, but you truly are the best mom a kid could ask for. I know sometimes it might not seem like your hard work is acknowledged, and I’m sorry for that. I wouldn’t be who I am today without you. You have done so much for me. You’ve cooked, cleaned, done laundry, bought me new clothes, and so many more “motherly duties." Don’t get me wrong, those classic mom roles are awesome, but what I am the most thankful for is so much more than that. You are selfless. You work all day every day and are exhausted but still come home and cook an amazing dinner and spend time with me. Whether it be going out somewhere, playing cards, or just watching a movie. You are extremely hard working. Your drive and determination has shaped me to be just like you, and that is something I am proud of. You have the kindest heart that loves so purely. Trust me, that especially doesn’t go unnoticed. You’ve always been there for me. This is the most important role a parent can play, and you win the blue ribbon for this one. Through the happiest and saddest of days, you are right by my side. Encouraging me, showing me the way and loving me. No matter what the situation is, I am comfortable to come to you. I can’t thank you enough for how much that means to me. I can only hope and pray that one day my kids will feel so comfortable and welcomed and talk to me about anything and everything. Some people may say that talking to your mom on the phone 15 times a day from college is crazy, but I wouldn’t change that for the world. You are my best friend, my biggest fan and my mom all in one. Come on, it doesn’t get any better than that! So, Mom, I sincerely thank you from the bottom of my heart for being who you are and loving me unconditionally. I will forever cherish the relationship we share, and I will do my absolute best not to take you for granted.

Love Always,

Your eternally grateful daughter

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
