Dear Mom and Dad, Thank You

Dear Mom and Dad,

First of all I want to say thank you for everything you do for me. I know there are times where I'm vocally thankful for everything you do, but there are many times where my appreciation for the two of you wasn't and isn't vocalized like it should be.

Thank you for raising me with the utmost love for both myself and my sister. The love that you guys have for us is indescribable. You love us even when forget how lucky and blessed we are and when we are being the most ungrateful teenagers. I know our ungratefulness can occasionally take over, but I appreciate every phone call, piece of advice, plate of food and hug you give me.

Thank you for showing me what true love is. You guys are the best example of what it is to love each other. Throughout my entire life I've watched you love each other through the cute family moments and the not so cute times where two children stressed you out and spread you thin. No matter what the circumstances you guys have stuck together and I'm grateful to see that in world where things are never perfect, you guys are perfect for each other. One day I hope I can find someone that is half the man you are, Dad.

Thank you for putting up with all the slammed doors, rude comments, back talk and eye rolls. I know I wasn't always the easiest to parent but thank you for all of the groundings (I never thought I would say that). All of those groundings helped turn me into the young woman that I am today. I am more respectful and thankful because of those groundings.

Thank you for being strict. While I never appreciated the strictness when I was in high school, I appreciate it more than you will ever know now. The rules that you guys put in place may have seemed unfair then, but thank you for the rules that other teenagers didn't have...those rules have shaped me into a more mature young adult who can handle herself well in so many situations.

Thank you for raising me to respect others. As I get older I sometimes notice that other people don't treat others very well. I'm eternally grateful that you taught me to love and respect other people.

I guess what I'm trying to say is thank you. Thank you for every little thing and every big thing you guys do for me. I love you both forever.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
