On January 27, 2017, history was made. . . but no one will hear about it. On that Friday in late January, an estimated 650,000 Americans, from across the country, marched in the “March for Life” rally in Washington D.C. But these days, the only march you hear about is the “Women’s March”, which was held just the week before, rallying for the exact opposite of the March for Life participants. With roughly 500,000 attendees, the Women’s March protested for women’s rights and mainly the right to abortion. The march was covered on national television, reported in newspapers, written about online and supported and advertised by countless celebrities and public figures (shocking). But the March for Life won’t get half of the attention that the Women’s March got, despite the fact that it made history. Vice President Mike Pence was the first VP to ever attend and speak at the March for Life.
So, Vice President Pence, thank you. Thank you for bringing awareness to the cause that we have been fighting for for 44 years. Thank you for using your celebrity to bring the media to the March for Life. Thank you for publically supporting our cause and encouraging us to keep fighting. Thank you for making us heard. Because unlike those at the Women’s March, we are fighting for those who can’t speak for themselves.
