A Thank You Letter, to You.

Sometimes all you really need to say is thank you.

A Thank You Letter, to You.
Cj Williams

I want to say thank you. A thank you to friends, family, experiences, and many other things. Thank you has a lot of meaning behind it. Usually it's just a polite thing to say when someone hands you food or holds the door open for you. For me, thank you is a gift. Thank you is something you mean and something that not everyone gives. Thank you is creative. It can be "Thank you!" or it can be the meanest "Thank you!" you've ever received. There are a lot of ways you can say thank you but for now, I just want to say it to some people. So here we go.

Thank you to my past, present, and future roommates. The ones who put up with me literally every day. The ones who take my horrible puns like, "jokes about toilet paper are tearable." The people who see me in the morning with my hair in a fro/mohawk depending on how I slept. The ones who get up in the middle of the night and still see me awake at 3 a.m. because I am a night owl forever and always. We eat together, laugh together, play games together, argue about who does the dishes together, and most importantly insult each other. So for those roommates reading this now, eat shit, and thank you.

Thank you for the relationships. Thank you for making me think I am desirable and that you want to invest the time to make me happy and I hopefully did/do the same for you. Thank you for the experiences that we had together. Whether it was sitting in a basement watching movies all the time or acting on stage together or going to concerts, they are memories that will stick with me and shape my future dates. Thank you for loving me. Even though I talk shit on random strangers and make mistakes. For those relationships reading this, wubba lubba dub dub, and thank you.

Thank you to my directors/set designers/costume designers. Much like a person working out needs a motivator, actors need a director. You turned me into the actor I am today. You gave me the bravery to audition for future shows and learn how to take rejection and turn it into an opportunity rather than disappointment. You taught me that it is okay to be upset and it is okay to cry because it shows that I care about my hard work. So for those of you out there reading this, and I know who you are, thank you for not just being a director, but for being a friend.

Thank you to my best friends. Thank you for making me feel like I can do anything when I am with you. You are what makes my day better. Why I feel like every day is a blessing. No matter what I can count on you and no matter what I can trust in you. Sure, sometimes we call each other asses but we know that means something more than just ass. Thank you for believing in me, keeping me around, and enjoying the same things I do. From trashy pop/punk bands and video games to school and theatre, you make my life that much better. So for those indie loving, thespian acting, and smash playing friends and best friends, thank you for making me, more like me.

Lastly, thank you Mom, Dad, Tim, Jeni, Nico, and Hunter. Without you, I would not be in school. Without you, I would never have had the guts to get on stage and keep performing. Without you, I would not have the sense of humor I have today. I would not have the sense of love that I have today. Thank you does not sum up the amount of trouble I've caused you six. Mom, thank you for changing every single poopy diaper I've ever had and working so hard to get me through school. Dad, thank you for being the big hero I can look up to. Thank you for reminding me that I need to try everything because what if one day, I am in a show and for some reason need to do that one thing. Tim, thank you for being as nerdy as I am. Don't worry that's a good thing. Thank you for being a step-dad that will talk with me about awesome movies and work hard to just be able to rent a silly video game for me. I'm glad I get to meet Mr. Collins again today as I did when I first met you. Jeni, thank you for being a super fun step-mom and giving me two beautiful little sisters that are little poops sometimes. You know it. Thank you for taking me to a small town that turns out to hold a huge place in my heart. Thank you Nico, for being an older brother that I can look up to. You are currently in a band that sometimes I diss on, but not all the time! You are such a talented drummer and holy shit you can shred some drums dude. Kangaroo Ali is going to be at the Sprint Center in 2020. I predict it. And lastly, my younger brother, Hunter. Thank you for hanging out with me and playing zombies with me. Sure sometimes we fought and sometimes I was just way better at a game than you. Well that last one is all the time but besides that, you made me realize that I just gotta chill out about somethings and not worry too much. And you may be way coolor than me now, but I knew you always were. So for you guys reading this, I love you and thank you.

Thank you, for being you big cat.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
