Everyone likes to be patted on the back and to feel like they're Beyoncé. But real friends are the ones that point out the things that aren't what you want them to be or are a little harsh about the boy you're texting. Those are the friends that are invaluable.

Thank you to the friend that always honest about my appearance. To the one that says yes when the jeans I'm wearing "make my butt look big" and not in a good way. When I ask if my hair looks good and she says to change it or helps me make it stay flat. When I have lipstick on my teeth or when it starts to run so she tells me to take it off. Thank you to the friend that doesn't let me wear the crop that's a little too small and gives me a gut that a bigger shirt wouldn't.

Thank you to the friend that is honest about how things look when we go shopping so I buy things for my bod type.

Thank you to the friend that will get McDonald's with me at 3 a.m. on a Saturday, and then kicks my butt in the gym because we know we shouldn't have eaten it. To the friend that says "no" when I ask if I should get a bacon spud for lunch (again). Thank you to the friend that gets a salad with me to encourage me.

Thank you for telling me when I should stop texting (or waiting for a text back from) a guy that doesn't deserve me. Thank you for being brutally honest about my standards and where they should be. For taking me away from a boy that's not cute I'm talking to. For dragging me off the dance floor when I'm too drunk, and for cutting me off when I've had too much. I'm sorry for yelling at you when you do so.

Thanks for telling me when I'm being too nice and need to hold my ground, but even more for when I'm being a bitch and shouldn't be. For telling me to go relax or take a nap. Thank you for not just smiling and letting me be an ass.

Thank you for telling me not to do something, because it's just a little too reckless, not a "yolo" thing.

Thank you for telling me how it is and not sugar coating, even when I would rather just be told I'm amazing. For being the real friend that I can trust with anything and know you have my best interests at heart. Thank you for having my back and making sure my front looks good.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

We've all been there. From move-in day to the first finals week in college, your first term is an adventure from start to finish. In honor of college decisions coming out recently, I want to recap some of the most common experiences college freshmen experience.

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself. As you walk away, you will wonder if they will ever speak to you again, but don't worry, there's a good chance that you will make some great friends on your floor!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.
