A Thank You Letter To My Roomies

Dear Roomies,

Thank you for being there for me in my worst moments and my best moments. All the way from running out of money at the end of the month to getting a good grade on an exam. Thank you for being my cooking helper and making sure I don’t burn the house down. Thank you for being my partner in crime no matter what the wrongdoing is. Thank you for the endless sleepovers every single night. Thank you for cleaning my pile of dishes for me when I am in a rush and not bitching about it (sometimes). Thank for meeting me at school with the things I forgot at home because we all know I would forget my head if it wasn’t attached to me. Thank you for being my permanent passenger rider and my ultimate DJ. Most importantly thank you for making the right decision for me when I am not in my right state of mind (because we all know how common that is unfortunately.) Thank you for listening to my dreadful ranting and rambling about senseless things like “How dare Dunkin Donuts forget to put sugar in my coffee.” While we are on the subject of dreadful things, thank you for sticking by me even while watching my awful dance moves. Thank you for the endless amount of playful hugs. Thank you for always being my late night snack partner. Thank you for being my forever wing woman. Thank you for being my unofficial psychiatrist. Thank you for grabbing me toilet paper when we run out. Thank you for not judging me, no matter how regretful my actions may be and always having my back through everything. Thank you for knowing what I am going to say before I even say it and always finishing my sentences. Thank you for always missing me when I am not home for an hour but excited to see me once I get back like I was gone forever. Thank you for offering me all of your clothes as if they were my own. Lastly, thank you for not only being my roomies, but sisters and my best friends that I will cherish for a lifetime.

Love Always,

Your Favorite Roomie

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter
morethanwheels

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
