A Thank You Letter To My Puppies
Merrick Randy Alexander

Dear All Three Of My Awesome Puppers,

I just want to thank you all for loving me unconditionally. You bring so much joy, laughter, and love into my life. Thank you for forgiving me within a minute of me getting upset with you. Thank you for being there for me when I need support the most, and for guarding and protecting me every single day. Thank you for cuddling with me and listening to all of my problems. Thank you so much for the huge smile you put on my face when you get excited every time I walk through the door. Thank you for allowing me to dress you in awesome/ridiculous clothing, and then letting me take pictures of you. Thank you for instantly forgiving me after I accidentally step on your tail. Thank you for being the amazing puppers you are.

You have given me a reason to smile in moments only tears seem to exist. You have been with me through every heart break and loss I have experienced and helped me through them all. You all have been my rock, and given me reasons to get out of bed in the morning. There is nothing that can make me more happy than seeing your eyes light up everyday, and seeing your love for life. There have been days where I have felt so alone and you are always there to comfort me and make sure I know I am loved and appreciated. I just cannot thank you enough for the happiness you bring to my life. Thank you for making me laugh when you come sliding into a room and can't quite slow down from all the momentum of your excitement. Thank you for going through each day being my sidekick in every endeavor of the day. Thank you for supervising all of my yard work. Thank you for waiting for me in the mornings outside of my door, and accompanying me through this life.

I truly do not know what I did to deserve you three wonderful souls, but man am I glad I did it. Remi, JoJo, and Misty you are honestly some of the best things that have ever happened in my life and I will love you eternally. Thanks for allowing me to be your person, and loving me all the days of your lives. You are so special. I love you all from the very depths of my heart.

Love, Merrick (Your Person)

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
