A Thank You Letter To My Parents

I don't know where I would be without you

A Thank You Letter To My Parents
Tessa Giambordino

Right now in my life, I would be considered an adult. Even though sometimes I don’t exactly act like it or I would rather not be considered one in order to escape from what would be considered “adult responsibilities,” I have two important people to thank for getting me to where I am now. Those people would be the man and woman I am lucky enough to call my parents. Growing up I never let you guys know how grateful I was/am for you guys and everything that you have given me. You guys have blessed me with so many wonderful opportunities that I will forever be grateful for. As thanksgiving just passed, I figured now is a good time to let you guys know just how thankful I am for you guys. So, Mom and Dad…thank you.

Thank You For Being My First Teachers…

You began teaching me at a young age, and even though I am almost grown, you continue to teach me new things every day. I have learned some of my most important lessons from you, even if sometimes I don’t want to admit it. Of all the friends and teachers that I have had in my life, you two have been the best.

Thank You For Being My Biggest Supporters…

There is not a time throughout my life where you two haven’t been behind me supporting me in whatever I was doing. Sometimes when I don’t think I can do something, or I feel like giving up, I know that I have you two there to help me put things back into perspective and show me that I can do whatever I put my mind to. Thank you for always believing in me and for supporting me in making my dreams come true.

Thank You For Teaching Me That Hard Work Is The Way To Success…

At times I didn’t want to put the work necessary into things, but you guys showed me that hard work is the only way to get what you want in life. You taught me that nothing comes easy, and things have to be earned.

Thank You For Teaching Me How To Love…

I am so lucky to have grown up with you two as my parents showing me that love and family are the way to happiness. Thank you for teaching me to love with all my heart and to let that show through my actions. I have learned from you two that true love is out there and that I should never accept anything less than what I deserve. Even though sometimes I let weeks or months pass without thanking you guys, you haven’t let a single second pass without loving me unconditionally.

Mom and Dad, I have grown up showered with your love, comforted by your hugs, and motivated by your lives, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. We have had our ups and downs, and we may disagree on things, but at the end of the day, you are the ones I want to talk to; the ones I want to tell everything to.

Thank you for everything. I love you.

The Battle Between College And My Mental Health

College isn't easy, and I'm afraid I'm not going to make it at the rate my mental health is going.

Everyone tells you that college is hard, but they fail to explain why. Sure, classes are hard. Math sucks, and political science can be so boring. But that's not even what's killing me about college. What's killing me about college is my deterioating mental health.

As a college student, I feel as if people don't understand just how exhausted I, and fellow college students are. We have so many things going on, all the time, and sometimes it's hard to explain to people how we feel. Personally...I'm tired. I'm sad. And I'm struggling every single day with my emotions. But the thing is, it hasn't always been this way. I haven't always hated school, so why am I feeling like this now?

Resting b***h face. Defined as a person, usually a girl, who naturally looks mean when her face is expressionless, without meaning to. Many of you suffer from this "condition." You are commonly asked what's wrong, when nothing is. What people don't know is that is just your facial expression. Here are some things they wish you knew.
