A Thank You Letter To My Mom

Dear Mom,

I may not show it often, but I appreciate everything you have done for me. Everyday I thank the Lord for giving me the blessing on calling you mom. We share many memories that I will hold and cherish forever. I know I probably wasn't the easiest to raise, but you never gave up and never stopped loving me. Know that you did an amazing job raising me. It's because of you, I am the person I am today, and words can't thank you enough for that.

Thank you for always answering my texts in the morning, afternoon, and evening. Thank you for always answering my phone calls, and for thinking of me. You have taught me many lessons in life that I will pass on. Whether it is valuable life lessons, or something as simple on teaching me to hand wash the dishes and not rely on a dishwasher. There was never a time you put yourself before me. You lent me your car, your clothes, your make up. You always made me lunches for school that made everyone jealous. Thank you for the many adventures into Manhattan watching countless Broadway shows. You never hesitated to drive me to school when I asked, or drive me to my friends house. I thank you for exposing me to our culture and for sending me on trips to visit the beautiful country you are from. There are many other things I can thank you for, but there isn't enough seconds in the day to tell you.

I can't imagine my life without you and am beyond thankful for the countless memories we have. The good and the bad. I have to learn from my mistakes and you have helped me do so. You work so hard just so I can have all the things I do and more. I look up to you and hope I can be half of the person that you are. You are my best friend and you have supported me in everything I do. You're the most strongest women and I know and I hope you know I will always be there for you. I love you to pieces and hope you're proud of me. Te quiero mucho.

Love,

Your daughter (su parcera)

On the Upper East Side, Blair Waldorf is an icon. She's what every girl aspires to be. She's beautiful, confident, and can handle any obstacle that life throws at her. Sure, she may just be a television character. But for me, she's a role model and theres a lot that can be learned from Queen B.

We Heart It

Over the past decade, television has undergone a very crucial transition: the incorporation of female lead characters. Since it's a known fact that girls actually do run the world (Beyonce said so herself), it's time for the leading ladies of the small screen to get some credit. Without these characters, women would still be sitting in the background of our favorite shows. These women are not only trailblazers for female empowerment, but role models for women worldwide. With that, here are 15 of the smartest, sassiest ladies gracing our screens that remind us that women do, indeed, rule:
