Thank you for everything you have done for me.

Dear Mom and Dad,

First of all, thank you! Thank you for everything you have done for me until this very day. Thank you for working over 40 hours every week just so my sister and I could get everything we wanted. Thank you for buying us name-brand clothes so we could fit in during our high school years. Thank you for taking us on trips even though you had to take out a loan to pay for it. Thank you for getting us everything on our Christmas list even if some of the things were a little pricy.

Dad, ever since I was a little girl I never got to see you. You were at college by day and then work by night. I never understood why you went back to college but you did it so you could get a better education and job so we could have a better life. I was always angry or sad that you were never around. During my years in school I remembered looking out into the crowd at my middle school concerts, volleyball games or dance recitals but I never saw your face. I understand now that there was a reason. You missed all those things because you were making the money to support us. You did it because you love me.

Mom, I’m sorry. I’m sorry for always being grumpy, moody and annoyed with you. I know that you were trying your best. I always complained about the meals you cooked, not having time to do my laundry or making me drive the crappy car to school. It breaks my heart now just looking back at this and knowing you were trying your best to be a good mother. I bet you were tired after coming home late from work every day but you did my laundry or cooked my meals anyways. And when I complained about driving the crappy car, you had to find a ride to get to work. You did everything for me because you love me.

Money was never brought up as an issue in our home because you both work hard so I could have a better childhood! And I am forever grateful that you raised me into who I am today. Mom and Dad, I am going to make a difference in the world and prove to you that your hard work to raise me as a middle-class child will pay off. Now it’s my turn to take care of you.

I don’t say this enough but I love you and thank you.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

10 Reasons Why Sisters Are The Best

Who could be a better friend than your own sister?

sisters

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.

If you’re anything like me, you love a good cup of coffee. My coffee always comes from Starbucks; I refuse to drink it from anywhere else. Over the years, it’s become one of my biggest addictions. So, if you are aware that you’re a Starbucks addict as well, or maybe you need to check to see if you’re an addict, here are seven ways to tell.

College involves a whirlwind of emotions, whether it’s from the stress of an assignment (or twenty), or from fighting with your roommate. It can be overwhelming at times and it’s important to take a step a back and calmly think things over. Maybe gain some perspective. The following aren’t foolproof tips and may not apply to you, but I was able to find success with them (hope you do too!)
