We all have friends who we go to for different reasons. We have the friend who we go to when we need to have a good laugh. We have the friend who we go to when we need to be cheered up. We have the friend who we go to when we need a good cry. We have the friend who we go to who will just sit with us and let us be sad. We have friend who we go to when we need advice.
Now, this can get a little complicated. When it comes to advice, if you are like me, then you have a few different people who you go to depending on what advice you want. You have the friend who will tell you exactly what you want to hear. You have the friend who will tell you the easiest option. If you are really lucky, you have a friend who will give you the best advice for you. Fortunately enough, I have a few friends like this. This article is written for you and to thank you.
Everyone knows the feeling that you get when you have a really hard decision to make. You may have faced it when you were deciding where to go to school, where you wanted to study abroad, if you wanted to stay in a relationship with your boyfriend or girlfriend, or if you were deciding to keep someone in your life who maybe should not be there anymore. We face a number of decisions each day. Some of these decisions are harder than others, some you can make on your own, and some you need someone else’s input for.
If you are faced with one of those decisions where you need someone else, that is when you turn to your friend to give the advice that you need at that moment. Most of the time, when I am in one of these situations, I turn to my friend who will give me the advice that I need to hear, even if it is not necessarily always want to hear. To you, I would like to say, "Thank you."
I would like to thank you for the countless times that you have been there for me. I would like to thank you for the times when you have been stronger than me. I would like to thank you for the number of times that you have listened to my issues, even when you had hours of homework to do, or a number of other things going on in your own life. I would like to thank you for every piece of advice that you have given me because even it is was not what I wanted to hear, it was what I needed to hear at that moment. I would like to thank you for always looking out for my best interests. I would like to thank you for letting me talk through my problems with you. I would like to thank you for taking what I tell you and analyzing it to figure out what I am trying to say and what I actually want, even if I do not know what that is myself. What I want to thank you for most is for just being there for me. I hope that someday I can be as good of a friend to you as you have always been to me.
XOXO,
Your very thankful friend
