A Thank You Letter To My Bunny

To my tiny fluffy child, I owe you so much.

A Thank You Letter To My Bunny
Sam Azzaro

When I look back on last year around this time, I never thought I would have you 'hop' into my life. I was not your original owner and you were and are still just a tiny baby, but I'm really glad that I took you into my world as you have taken me into yours.
For those who are confused by the horrible pun and the vague writing, this is Edgar Allen Potato, or Poe for short... and even sometimes Butthole McGee.

He really thinks he's king of the world honestly, but I love him so much.

I "adopted" Poe in November 2016 when an acquaintance of mine could no longer care for him. He was four months at the time and already had so much personality in his tiny feet. However I was told that he could be skittish, was afraid of being picked up, and would destroy anything he could get his teeth on, which was worrisome but I didn't let it stop me from welcoming him into my life. To my wonderful surprise, he was so much more than just a few problem habits, and I have so much to thank him for!

1. Thank you for trusting me.

I've never owned a bunny before, I didn't know how bunnies really behaved and I was so afraid you wouldn't get used to me. However you warmed up to me immediately and I love all your kisses and snuggles, thank you for being comfortable and trusting me.

2. Thank you for having patience for me.

Obviously as you might have seen, I did not know a lot of things about taking care of a bunny at first and it took a lot of research and talking to some others who have owned bunnies to find out what was best for you in terms of yummy foods, treats, the best bedding, and how to make you happy and I hope it worked!

3. Thank you for being so silly and funny!

Seriously when you begin to "binky" and run all around the room, jumping from the bed to the floor to anything else you can jump over, I just about die laughing. I seriously need it after a real long day.

4. Thank you for letting me know when you need something!

I love nothing more than when you come to bump my hand for pets and ear rubs, knocking around your nearby toys for play time, nibbling on my clothes and sometimes me when you want me to move out of your way so you can run around, and throwing your food bowl when you want more pellets, which I find to be a hysterical way to beg.

5. Thank you for your constant curiosity.

You've reminded me of a different way to look at the world and to always keep digging and move the world around, even after someone *ahem* tells you no. I will say it cracks me up that you will look in the mirror and then go behind it as if to find the other bunny.

6. Thank you for giving me so much love!

While sometimes you give me little nibbles meaning you want things, I find it insanely adorable that I get little licks and kisses sometimes. Even flopping down when I'm petting you and giving you ear rubs means the world to me. Nothing however will top when I'm laying on my back and then you proceed to lay and flop on top of me. Also, thanks for loving my friends and family, especially because they just want to love you too.

7. Thank you for not eating everything I own.

I'm insanely thankful that you've stopped biting EVERYTHING I own, and now it is just... not everything. Especially since I've had to get a new phone cord... you crazy rabbit.

8. Thank you for helping me be happy.

I don't know what I would have done without you calming me down some days, thanks for being there for me. Thank you for being mine Poe.

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Kourtney Kardashian

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
